Updated on July 1st, 2026
Important Information Before Use
This Notice explains how ClassDocs ("we," "us," or "our") handles Personal Data in connection with the ClassDocs or the website from where you downloaded ClassDocs ("Product"). For purposes of this Notice, "Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to a particular individual, as recognized under applicable law, including comparable concepts such as personal information and personally identifiable information. Information that does not identify a person on its own will still be treated as Personal Data when combined with other information and kept linked or reasonably linkable to that person.
Residents of certain U.S. states should also review the supplemental U.S. state section below, which contains additional disclosures and rights that may apply and also operates as a Notice at Collection and Privacy Notice for purposes of the CCPA.
This Notice applies to Personal Data collected or otherwise processed in connection with the download, installation, activation, access to, and use of the Product, as well as the website through which the Product is made available. In this Notice, "you," "your," and "user" refer to the person using the Product and, where relevant, the company or other organization on whose behalf that use occurs.
For purposes of applicable data protection laws, we act as the "data controller," or the equivalent term under applicable law, in relation to the Personal Data processed in connection with the Product and determine the purposes and means of that processing.
If you would like more information about this Notice, our processing activities, or the Product, you may contact us at [email protected].
The purpose of this Notice is to describe what categories of information we handle, why we handle them, how that information may be used or disclosed, what protections we apply, and what choices and rights may be available to you.
The Product is not intended for children under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect or process Personal Data relating to children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with Personal Data, we will delete such information as soon as reasonably practicable. If you believe that a child has shared information with us, please contact us promptly.
You are not legally required to provide Personal Data to us, but if certain information is not provided, parts of the Product may not operate as intended and we may not be able to address your requests or inquiries.
Personal Data That We Process and the Reason for Processing
Any Personal Data that we otherwise process in relation to the Product or that you choose to provide us, is processed within our systems and treated in accordance with this Notice. We share Personal Data with third parties only in the circumstances described here or where applicable law requires disclosure. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Product, you acknowledge and accept the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of Personal Data as described in this Notice. If you do not agree, do not download, install, access, or use the Product. We may process the following categories of Personal Data:
- Operational and Performance Records. We may process information generated through use of the Product, whether collected directly by us or by service providers acting on our behalf. This may include information such as features used, timestamps, session length, clickstream data, technical events, and records relating to errors or troubleshooting. We use this information to evaluate performance, support internal development, troubleshoot issues, improve functionality, and preserve security, based on our legitimate interests in operating, maintaining, and improving the Product.
- Materials You Submit Through the Product. We do not store user content on our own servers or upload that content into our systems for storage. After processing occurs and the relevant output is generated, that output is made available to you and remains stored locally on your device. Where you are authorized to do so, content submitted through the Product may include Personal Data relating to individuals other than yourself, such as names or descriptions of other persons. If you do not have the required authority or any necessary consent, you should not submit personal data relating to any person other than yourself. To the extent the Product processes Personal Data concerning individuals other than yourself, we rely on our legitimate interests in providing a functional and available Product to our users.
- Technical and Device Signals. We may process technical and online identifiers connected to your device or your use of the Product, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device identifiers, browser-based identifiers, Google advertising ID (GAID), and other similar identifiers. When these identifiers are used to operate the Product, support functionality, protect the Product, or prevent fraud, we rely on our legitimate interests. When they are used in connection with marketing, targeted advertising, or tracking technologies, we rely on your consent as described elsewhere in this Notice.
- Support and Correspondence Files. When you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us regarding the Product, we may process your contact information, the substance of your request, and any other information you choose to share. We use this information to respond to you, provide assistance, communicate regarding your request, and maintain records of support interactions. We may also keep these communications for future reference, improvement of our services, and training of support personnel, relying on performance of our contract with you where support is provided as part of delivering the Product, and otherwise on our legitimate interests in recordkeeping and enhancing support operations.
We use Personal Data and related information for a range of operational, business, compliance, and communications purposes connected with the Product, including the following:
- Managing and Improving the Product. We use information to administer, maintain, support, evaluate, analyse, and improve the Product and its features. This includes monitoring performance, resolving technical issues, reviewing usability and compatibility, understanding user experience, and developing updates, improvements, and additional functionality aligned with our operational and business needs.
- Protecting the Product and Related Systems. We use information to maintain the security, integrity, and dependability of the Product, our systems, and our users. This includes detecting and helping prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorized activity, and other conduct that may breach our terms or applicable law, as well as taking appropriate measures to safeguard our services and infrastructure.
- Providing Product Access and Functionality. We process information as necessary to make the Product available to you and to operate its features and functions.
- Personalization, Promotion, and Advertising. We may use Personal Data to support personalization, promotional efforts, advertising, and marketing activities, including helping ensure that content, communications, and advertisements are more relevant to your interests and interactions with the Product.

Product's Use of Cookies
Depending on the interface through which the Product is accessed, we may use cookies and similar technologies in connection with your browsing, access to, and use of the Product. These tools may be placed on, stored on, or otherwise associated with your device while you use relevant Product functionality. In general, cookies are small text files commonly used in web-based environments.
We use these technologies to support the operation and usability of the Product, including by helping users navigate efficiently, enabling certain features automatically, remembering settings and preferences, and making interactions with our services more effective and responsive.
Review this Notice before you download, install, activate, access, or use the Product.
Security Approach and Limitations
We maintain a security program that includes technical, administrative, and operational safeguards intended to protect the Personal Data we process in connection with the Product and to support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and services.
The safeguards we apply reflect the nature and sensitivity of the information involved. Our personnel use generally accepted technical, administrative, and organizational practices designed to help reduce the risk of unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
Even with these measures in place, no method of transmission, storage, or security measure can be guaranteed to be entirely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Disclosures, Third-Party Recipients, and Cross-Border Data Handling
We may share Personal Data processed in connection with the Product in limited situations where doing so is consistent with this Notice, supports our operations, or is required by applicable law.
Legal Compliance and Protection. We may share Personal Data when we believe doing so is necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable law, legal process, subpoenas, warrants, court orders, or other binding demands, or when needed to investigate or respond to unlawful conduct, misuse of the Product, security incidents, or threats to the rights or safety of any person or entity.
Service Providers, Affiliates, and Product Support Partners. We may share Personal Data with our affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, advertisers, and other third parties that help us operate, support, maintain, market, administer, or enhance the Product.
Measurement and Analytics Partners. We may share information with analytics providers and comparable partners that assist us in measuring, assessing, and understanding the performance, usage, and effectiveness of the Product, including through aggregated or statistical reporting.
Corporate Events and Business Changes. Personal Data may be shared or transferred as part of an actual or contemplated merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, asset sale, consolidation, or another major corporate transaction or business change involving our company.
Some recipients of Personal Data may be located in countries other than your own, including, where relevant, outside the EEA. In those cases, we take steps intended to ensure that such recipients are bound by privacy and security obligations consistent with this Notice and applicable law. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including contractual safeguards and other lawful transfer mechanisms designed to protect Personal Data when it is processed across borders.
Notice Changes and Data Lifecycle
We may update this Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the Product, our data handling practices, or applicable legal requirements. Any revised version will be made available on our website and, unless stated otherwise, will become effective when posted. We encourage you to review this Notice periodically to stay informed of updates.
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request deletion of your Personal Data in certain circumstances. Please note, however, that unless retention is required by law or under a specific agreement, we are not required to keep Personal Data for any fixed period and may securely delete, anonymize, or limit access to it once it is no longer needed for legitimate business purposes.
How Long Personal Data Is Retained
Unless a different retention period is specified elsewhere in this Notice, we retain Personal Data for as long as reasonably necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, as permitted or required by applicable law. We may retain Personal Data for longer where needed to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting requirements, maintain appropriate business records, resolve complaints or disputes, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
U.S. State-Specific Privacy Addendum
This section supplements the rest of this Notice for residents of certain U.S. states. It provides additional disclosures about how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process Personal Data where such disclosures are required under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
In addition to the rights described elsewhere in this Notice, residents of certain U.S. states may be entitled to further rights under applicable privacy laws, subject to the scope, limitations, exceptions, and exclusions contained in those laws.
Under certain privacy laws in the United States, we are required to give consumers a notice that clearly explains, among other things, the categories of Personal Data we collect or process, the reasons for that processing, the categories of third parties to whom such Personal Data is disclosed, whether any category of Personal Data is sold or used for targeted advertising, the categories of third parties involved in those practices, the rights available to consumers, the procedures for exercising and appealing those rights, and the ways to contact us. This Notice, together with the additional information below, is intended to fulfill those disclosure obligations.
Sales and Targeted Advertising Disclosures
Under certain U.S. state privacy laws, "sale" may be defined broadly enough to include sharing or otherwise making Personal Data available to a third party in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration, including for purposes related to targeted advertising. We do not sell Personal Data in the ordinary sense of directly receiving money in return for information about you. Nonetheless, depending on the meaning of "sale" under applicable law, our use of cookies and similar tracking technologies, third-party advertising providers, and certain related disclosures of Personal Data to third parties, including analytics providers, could be regarded as a "sale" or as processing for targeted advertising. The categories of Personal Data that may be involved in those activities include unique identifiers, such as device identifiers and IP addresses, internet or other electronic network activity information, such as interactions with our services, and geolocation information derived from IP address data.
Categories of Personal Data Addressed by This Notice
The section entitled "PERSONAL DATA THAT WE PROCESS AND THE REASON FOR PROCESSING" describes the categories of Personal Data that we collect or otherwise process in relation to the Product, as well as the purposes for which that Personal Data is collected, used, retained, or otherwise handled. We do not process the Personal Data we collect for purposes that are materially different from, unrelated to, or incompatible with the purposes described in this Notice, and we do not collect new categories of Personal Data without providing any notice and obtaining any consent required by applicable law, unless applicable law otherwise permits or requires us to do so.
Additional State-Specific Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may be entitled to rights under applicable privacy laws in addition to the rights described above in the section titled "WHAT ARE YOUR DATA RIGHTS AND HOW TO EXERCISE THEM." Any such rights are subject to the scope, exceptions, limitations, and exclusions set out in the applicable laws and may include the following:
You may have the right to ask us to confirm whether we process your Personal Data and, where technically feasible, to provide access to that Personal Data in a portable and readily usable format.
You may also have the right to request correction of inaccurate Personal Data, deletion of Personal Data that you provided to us or that we collected about you, and, in certain cases, a list identifying the specific third parties to whom we have disclosed Personal Data relating to you or any Personal Data.
Where applicable law grants this right, you may also opt out of certain types of processing, including the "sale" of Personal Data, targeted advertising, and profiling carried out in furtherance of decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects.
If we do not act on your request, you may have the right to appeal that decision. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights available to you under applicable law. For more information about California privacy rights, please visit the California Office of the Attorney General's website at: https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa.
We will handle each request in accordance with the timelines mandated by applicable law and, where legally permitted, may extend those timelines provided any required notice is given. If we determine that we cannot act on a request, we will inform you of that determination, set out the reasons for it, and, where applicable, explain the process for submitting an appeal. Any appeal will be considered and resolved within the timeframe required by applicable law. If an appeal is unsuccessful, you may also be entitled to raise the matter with, or lodge a complaint before, the applicable supervisory authority, regulator, or Attorney General in your jurisdiction.
To exercise any rights you may have under applicable U.S. state privacy laws, please submit your request to us at: [email protected].
